CRAFT Newsletter November

Here is your monthly
CRAFT NEWSLETTER FOR NOVEMBER Thank you for reading.
Hi << Test First Name >> Those of you who are regular visitors to Craft23 will have seen the Birds Rotisserie outlet next to the main bar.

You may also have been enticed by the aroma of grilled chicken, to sample from the Birds Rotisserie Menu

which, like the chic Craft surroundings, is beautifully simple:
The roast chicken dinner is one of the world’s great culinary traditions, regardless of what culture you are from. A roasted chook is possibly one of the most delicious things imaginable.
All Birds’ Rotisserie products are handmade. Our chicks are raised without antibiotics or added growth hormones. They have enough space to flap their wings and preen without touching another bird and are able to perch in their natural way without constraints.
Chicken Fun Fact 1: Chickens are living descendants of dinosaurs. Chicken as a meat has been depicted in Babylonian carvings from around 600 BC.
Chicken Fun Fact 2: Chicken is the most common type of poultry in the world and there are more chickens on earth than people.
Chicken Fun Fact 3: The largest serving of fried chicken (2,493 lbs) was served at Kentucky Fried Chicken in celebration of the restaurant’s 70th anniversary.
Chicken Fun Fact 4: Consumption of chicken in Thailand is about 7.5 kilograms per person, per year. That is forecast to increase by 0.4 kilograms per person over the next few years.
November isn’t just a month for talking turkey, or even chicken!; it’s also Movember—where many men put down their razors to raise awareness for important men’s health issues. The movement, named Movember by combining MO, the Australian slang for moustache, with November, creates Movember: a month-long, facial hair free-for-all.
Men are encouraged to grow their manliest moustaches—and bushiest beards—to raise awareness, and money, for men’s health issues including testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. And while it’s true, things can get a bit hairy, it’s a light-hearted approach to tackle some pretty heavy health concerns.
Post your before and after pics on our  Facebook pages. We also encourage you to raise money for, or donate to, the Movember charity.
Ready. Set. Mo! Whatever you grow may save a bro!

  Dates For Your Diary
Tuesday, 8thLoi Krathong is celebrated during the full moon of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar. This year the festival is on Tuesday, November 8th.
Also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, Loi Krathong sees people everywhere gather in the evening at lakes, rivers, canals, and beaches to participate in the celebrations and pay respect to the goddess of water. In Thai, the word Loi means ‘float’ and Krathong means ‘container, boat, or vessel’. People float a krathong decorated with candles and flowers onto the water. They believe this is a way to rid oneself of bad luck and negative feelings, and to bring good luck and positive feelings.

Friday 11th. Remembrance Day (Veterans Day USA).
The day when we remember those members of the armed forces who gave their lives in conflict. The date was chosen to commemorate the end of hostilities of the First World War on 11th November 1918. It is traditional to wear a red poppy on the 11th.

Monday 14th. Odd Socks Day
Wear odd socks to work and/or your visit to Craft or Whisgars’s on the 14th to show your support for anti-bullying in all walks of life.

Sunday 20th. Universal Children’s Day
United Nations Universal Children’s Day was established to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.
